Common questions
How much does a system cost?
It depends on your water and your home. A drinking water system costs a lot less than a whole-home setup. You get the exact price in writing before any work starts. The scope is fixed on paper, and nothing changes unless you approve it first.
Do I need a water softener?
Depends whose water you have. The city systems we've checked all test soft, and the white film people blame on hard water here is usually silica and dissolved minerals, which a softener can't remove anyway. But dozens of local subdivisions run on their own private utilities, and their water can be very different. Wells are different again. Your neighborhood's report settles it, and we'll show you your street's actual number.
Do you test the water in my home?
Usually we don't need to. Your water system publishes real lab data every year, and we use your neighborhood's actual report. Wells are the exception, since they have no public reports, so those we test at the tap. And if you'd just feel better having your own tap tested, ask and we'll do it.
We're on well water. Can you help?
Yes. Wells are common on the Northshore and iron, sulfur smell, and sediment are all fixable. We test your well water first so the system matches what is in it.
